PeonyWeb.jpg
My Peony Bush43 viewsI was just playing with brushes, blending modes and layer styles. I had to pick my peonies because the rain was beating them down! I used the Bannerwoman's style on the frame, ms border brushes 3 on the background and the font is Signature. I think the framing is a little heavy...what do you think? I made the photo sepia but brought back a little of the beautiful pink. 2 commentsMsKaty

SpiderOrchid-500.jpg
Grand Spider Orchid - depth of field31 viewsReading Sonya's comments about depth of field brought me to this photo that I took yesterday while on a wildflower ramble at a park near my friend's house. Our native orchids are so beautiful and very small so easily overlooked. This guy stood about 15 inches out of the ground and the trailing front petals are about 3 inches long.
I would love to play more with the image to make the orchid stand out more from its background but the depth of field certainly did a pretty good job all by itself.
Thanks Sonya

good-morning-visitors.jpg
Morning visitors26 viewsOne morning, when I took Nutmeg out we were surprised by these birds when we cam around the side of the house. Nutmeg's hunting instinct kicked in at once and she managed to make me run. The birds were not that scared and came back around. Have no clue what they are, going by the bill could be a long billed Curlew but the color is somewhat darker.
The BG came from Marcie's Spring Fling, the heart from her Victorian Blue and the little angel on the frame is from her Raggedy A+A.
