Beatiful flower! I'm sure there are tons of mistakes. I still need to take mine. :)

Jan, like Ellie mentioned this is really a different sort of flower and very pretty. Your depth of field is great for it brings emphasis on the flower...especially for the point and shoot. Yep it's best to take several so you can choose from. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Here is mine photo. Most of the time when I take pictures of the kids in the swing they come out blurry. This photo was by pure accident that the background is blurry. I was so excited to see it!

Thanks for the feedback - glad to know I'm not the only one who ditches heaps! On that ramble we found 5 different native orchids but only this pic and one of a donkey orchid were any good.

My daughter has been trying to tutor me on camera settings on my DH's digital SLR. Sadly, judging from my results, I am not a very good student! She's taken lots of advanced photography courses as part of her job (she's a CSI) and she and DH tend to get into verbals about settings and lighting. They both think I'm crazy preferring the point and shoot.

Marcie....that is a great photo. Wonderful capture by accident! Luv those!

Jan....keep at it....it will get easier as you practice more. Remember how I always said in the past. Practice Practice and practice some more. As you practice it will become easier...depending how much you practice, etc. :)
